Being a sales consultant is not easy. It is hard work and you need to have some experience to be successful. However, there are a few quick shortcuts you can take to avoid all the agony, self-pity, and pain.

1. Find a mentor.

Finding a mentor is easy. There are a couple of ways you can find someone to show you the ropes for the sale. First, ask a friend or family member if they know of a successful sales consultant and ask for their phone number. Once you get their phone number, tell them who referred you and tell them that they were one of the best consultants they have ever heard. Once they start a conversation, invite them to lunch or dinner quickly to discuss business. After lunch or dinner, propose to be their mentor.

2. Learn to communicate effectively

3. Buy sales and marketing training materials
